Marc van de Mieroop. Es profesor de Historia en la Universidad de Columbia (Estados Unidos). Director del Centro de Columbia sobre el Mediterráneo antiguo, es editor fundador de la revista Journal of Ancient Near Eastern History. Autor de más de un centenar de artículos, lo es también de numerosos libros sobre diversos aspectos de las historias del Próximo Oriente antiguo y de Egipto
