En Anagrama ha publicado cinco novela, que lo han consagrado como uno de los mejores escritores de su generación, empezando por ¡Menudo reparto!, que fue galardonada con el Premio The Mail on Sunday/John Lewellyn Rhys y, en Francia, con el Prix Meilleur Livre Étranger. Su novela posterior, La casa del sueño, obtuvo el Writer's Guild Best Fiction y, en Francia, el Prix Médicis Étranger. La siguiente, El Club de los Canallas, obtuvo el Premio Arcebispo San Clemente, otorgado en Santiago de Compostel.
