Winifred Notty arrives at Ensor House prepared to play the perfect Victorian governess. She'll dutifully tutor her charges, Drusilla and Andrew, tell them bedtime stories, and only joke about eating children. But the longer Winifred spends within the estate's dreary confines and the more she learns of the perversions and pathetic preoccupations of the Pounds family, the more trouble she has sticking to her plan. Whether creeping across the moonlit lawns in her undergarments or gently tormenting the house staff, Winifred struggles at every turn to stifle the horrid compulsions of her past until her chillingly dark imagination breaches the feeble boundary of reality on Christmas morning.

x{0026}lt;P x{0026}lt;B Virginia Feitox{0026}lt;/B va néixer a Madrid el 1988, i ha viscut a París, a Londres -on va cursar Literatura Anglesa i Art Dramàtic a la Queen Mary University i va desenvolupar el seu amor per la literatura gòtica i el teatre-, a Nova York i novament a Madrid, on va estudiar Publicitat a la Miami Ad School. Ha treballat en importants agències publicitàries i ha guanyat diversos premis a festivals nacionals i internacionals. El 2018 va decidir deixar-ho tot per dedicar-se a escriure en anglès x{0026}lt;I La senyora Marchx{0026}lt;/I , la seva primera novel-la, que va propiciar una subhasta pels drets als Estats Units i està sent traduïda a diversos idiomes. Publicada el 2021, ha guanyat el Premi Best Novel València Negra 2022, el Premi Un Any de Llibres El Corte Inglés al Millor Debut, ha estat un dels llibres de l'any segons el x{0026}lt;I Library Journalx{0026}lt;/I i x{0026}lt;I The Timesx{0026}lt;/I , figura entre els llibres més venuts segons el x{0026}lt;I Sunday Timesx{0026}lt;/I i Blumhouse Productions està adaptant-la al cinema juntament amb Elisabeth Moss, que interpretarà el protagonista. La crítica nord-americana ha comparat Feito amb Patricia Highsmith, Hitchcock i Shirley Jackson.x{0026}lt;/P
