Clive Staples Lewis (Gran Bretaña, 1898-1963) crítico, académico y novelista inglés, considerado como uno de los mejores escritores de literatura infantil y juvenil en lengua inglesa. Amigo y colega de Tolkien, ambos poseían un agudo intelecto, una sólida formación y una pasión por la mitología nórdica que marcaría sus obras capitales: el Hobbit y El Señor de los anillos, en Tolkien y las Crónicas de Narnia (1950), en CS Lewis. Con Narnia, una obra fantástica y alegórica sobre la eterna lucha entre el bien y el mal, Lewis inauguraba un género que le convertiría en fundador y referente inexcusable de la narrativa fantástica actual.
