Growing up in 1970s Mexico City, Jennifer Clement lived next door to Frida Kahlo's house. It was a bohemian childhood, living alongside artists, communists, revolutionaries and poets, which allowed an awakening of creative freedom and curiosity about the world. Leaving behind Latin America for the burgeoning counter-culture scene in '80s New York, Clement inhabited the world of Jean-Michel Basquiat, Keith Haring, Colette Lumiere and William Burroughs.

x{0026}lt;P x{0026}lt;B Jennifer Clementx{0026}lt;/B nació en 1960 en Connecticut, pero sus padres se trasladaron a la ciudad de México cuando ella solo tenía un año. Estudió literatura inglesa y antropología en la Universidad de Nueva York y literatura francesa en París. Fue presidenta del PEN México desde 2009 hasta 2012. Esautora de x{0026}lt;I Una historia verdadera basada en mentirasx{0026}lt;/I y x{0026}lt;I Ladydix{0026}lt;/I , por la que ganó el Grand Prix des Lectrices Lyceenes de ELLE 2015, así como de x{0026}lt;I La viuda Basquiatx{0026}lt;/I , que fue seleccionada para la lista Booksellers' Choice. Jennifer también ha sido finalista del Pen Faulkner Award en la categoría de ficción en 2015, y ganadora del Sara Curry Humanitarian Award.x{0026}lt;/P
