Katherine Addison (seudónimo de Sarah Morette) nació y creció en Oak Ridge, Tennessee, una de las tres ciudades secretas del Proyecto Manhattan. Se licenció en la Case Western Reserve University y se doctoró en la Universidad de Wisconsin-Madison. Su novela El emperador goblin la situó en el mainstream del género fantástico en Estados Unidos. Esta obra ha sido galardonada con el premio Locus y nominada a los Nebula, Hugo y World Fantasy Award.
