Her diary captures the accelerating pace of her life, and the creative friendships with other well-known writers and artists. At times exhilarated, at others fearful or depressed, the entries of these years are animated by Woolf's sheer vitality as a writer.

x{0026}lt;p Virginia Woolf (1882-1941), nacida Adeline Virginia Stephen, fue una novelista, ensayista y feminista inglesa. De salud frágil desde joven, comenzó a escribir un diario a los quince años, combinando esta actividad con numerosas lecturas y con estudios de historia y griego en el Kingx{0026} x02019;s College.x{0026}lt;/p x{0026}lt;p A partir de 1904, inició su carrera como escritora publicando artículos y reseñas en The Guardian. Por aquellos años, la casa familiar se convirtió en un punto de encuentro para intelectuales, entre los que conoció a su futuro marido, Leonard Woolf. Juntos fundaron en 1917 la prestigiosa editorial The Hogarth Press, sello fundamental en la difusión de la literatura modernista.
