Europe stares into the abyss. Plague and famine stalk the land, monsters lurk in every shadow and greedy princes care for nothing but their own ambitions. Biografía del autor

Nacido en Lancaster en 1974, Joe Abercrombie, Lord Grimdark, se graduó en psicología en la Universidad de Manchester. Antes de dedicarse enteramente a escribir, trabajó para una compañía de postproducción televisiva. En la actualidad vive con su familia en Bath. Es autor de la trilogía de "La Primera Ley": "La voz de las espadas", "Antes de que los cuelguen" y "El último argumento de los reyes". A este mismo universo pertenecen tres novelas independientes -"La mejor venganza", "Los Héroes" y "Tierras Rojas"- y la trilogía "La Era de la locura" -"Un poco de odio", "El problema de la paz" y el presente volumen-. Asimismo, es autor de la "Trilogía del Mar Quebrado" y de la antología de relatos "Filos mortales".
