Virginia Evans es originaria del noreste de Estados Unidos. Se licenció en Literatura Inglesa por la Universidad James Madison y cursó un máster en Filosofía con especialización en Escritura Creativa en el Trinity College de Dublín (Irlanda). Actualmente vive en Winston-Salem (Carolina del Norte) con su esposo, sus dos hijos y su labrador color canela, Brigid.
