The relationship between Life and his Spacer superiors, who distrusted all Earthmen, was strained from the start. Then he learned that they had assigned him a partner: R. Daneel Olivaw. Worst of all was that the "R" stood for robot--and his positronic partner was made in the image and likeness of the murder victim!

Biografía del autor

Isaac Asimov (1920-1992) nació en Petróvichi, Rusia, y emigró con sus padres a Nueva York cuando tenía tres años. Estudió en la Universidad de Columbia donde se doctoró en Bioquímica. Mientras completaba sus estudios, sirvió como investigador en la Marina estadounidense durante la Segunda Guerra Mundial, y más tarde acabó ejerciendo de profesor de Bioquímica en la Universidad de Boston. Comenzó su serie Fundación a la edad de veintiún años, sin darse cuenta de que algún día sería considerada una piedra angular de la ciencia ficción. A lo largo de su legendaria carrera, Asimov escribió libros sobre temas que van desde la ciencia a Shakespeare, pasando por la historia, aunque fue más querido por sus galardonadas sagas futuristas. En 1987 recibió el Premio Gran Maestro Nebula, y en 1997 fue incluido en el Salón de la Fama de la Ciencia Ficción.
