As a component book of Sing Songs and Learn Chinese series prepared for selective Chinese courses, this is a sister book of Sing Folk Songs and Learn Chinese published by Shannxi Normal University Press in 2005. The book's main feature is to integrate learning of pop songs into Chinese teaching. Altogether 18 songs of lasting popularity, beautiful melodies and simple lyrics are selected and put into three volumes according to the time period. For each song, there are six sections which are Sing Together, Lyrics, Vocabulary, Grammar Notes, About the Singer, About the Writer, providing the music score, lyrics, vocabulary, grammar and related information. While learning to sing the songs, students can naturally learn the Chinese language and get to know some Chinese culture. About the Author Wang Xiaoyin is a Chinese teacher in the International School of Chinese Studies, Shaanxi Normal University. She has compiled Sing Folk Songs and Learn Chinese in 2005.
