Mike Davis (1946-2022) fue un historiador, geógrafo, teórico urbano y activista político. Nacido y criado en los suburbios del sur de California, donde su trabajo como camionero le acercó al movimiento obrero, Davis fue un historiador activista con una inclinación marxista sin paliativos. Sin embargo, incluso para quienes no coinciden políticamente con él, su obra sobre el poder y las clases sociales es de lectura obligada para los estadounidenses.
