Biografía del autor

Richard Scarry nació en Boston, Massachusetts, en 1919. Durante la Segunda Guerra Mundial trabajó al servicio del ejército como dibujante de mapas; luego se trasladó a Nueva York, la ciudad perfecta para los artistas, donde pronto consiguió grandes éxitos como ilustrador. Tenía un gran sentido del humor y conseguía despertar la fantasía entre los grandes y pequeños lectores con los animales antropomórficos de sus libros y sus mil aventuras. Viajó por todo el mundo; en 1968 se instaló con su familia en Suiza, en Gstaad, donde dibujó e inventó historias hasta el día de su muerte, en el año 1994.
