Biografía del autor

John Carlin (Londres, 1956) es escritor, periodista y guionista. Vivió su infancia en Buenos Aires y estudió en Inglaterra, país en el que reside en la actualidad. Fue corresponsal en México, Sudáfrica y Estados Unidos para el diario The Independent y en nuestro país ha sido galardonado con el Premio José Ortega y Gasset. En el tiempo que vivió en Sudáfrica tejió una estrecha relación con Nelson Mandela, quién prologó su libro Heroica tierra cruel (2004) y tras él apareció El factor humano (2008, ambos en Seix Barral), que inspiró la película Invictus (2009) dirigida por Clint Eastwood, y, más recientemente, La sonrisa de Mandela (2013, Debate), entre otras publicaciones.
