James Joyce is most celebrated for his remarkable novel Ulysses, and yet he was also an accomplished poet. S. Eliot. Jorge Luis Borges lo comparó con Shakespeare y Thomas Browne, y la "Enciclopedia Británica" asegura que su influencia es tan poderosa y atrae a tantos autores que muchos leen a Joyce sin necesidad de abrir las páginas de sus libros. Entre su obra sobresalen "Dublineses" (1914), "Retrato del artista adolescente" (1916) y "Finnegans Wake" (1939).
