La publicación de x{0026}lt;I Persépolis x{0026}lt;/I (2000-2003), una innovadora serie de cómics autobiográficos, le valió un éxito fulgurante en Europa y Estados Unidos. Siguieron dos novelas gráficas más para adultos, x{0026}lt;I Bordados x{0026}lt;/I (2003) y x{0026}lt;I Pollo con ciruelasx{0026}lt;/I (2004), así como varios libros infantiles. Ha colaborado en revistas y periódicos de todo el mundo, y actualmente se dedica a la dirección cinematográfica, con cinco películas en su haber, entre ellas las adaptaciones de x{0026}lt;I Persépolis x{0026}lt;/I (2007) y x{0026}lt;I Pollo con ciruelas x{0026}lt;/I (2011).x{0026}lt;/P
