Introducing a brand new Mr. Men character! Mr Adventure loves going on holiday to exciting places that would make your hair stand on end. But this year he doesn't have enough money to go on one of his wild adventures. He needs to get a job, but what job will be exciting enough for Mr Adventure? The Mr Men and Little Miss have been delighting children for generations with their charming and funny antics. Bold illustrations and funny stories make Mr Men and Little Miss the perfect story time experience for children aged 2 years and up. Have you met them all? It all started with a tickle. Roger Hargreaves' son Adam asked him what a tickle looked like. In response, Roger drew a small orange man with extraordinarily long arms that could reach anywhere and tickle anyone. Mr Tickle, the first of the Mr Men, was born. Mr Tickle was soon joined by Mr. Greedy, Mr. Happy, Mr. Nosey, Mr Sneeze and Mr Bump. When the first Mr Men books were published they became an instant hit. Roger went on to create many more Mr Men and Little Miss characters.
What Roger really wanted was to make children laugh, which is probably why his own favourite character is Mr Silly.
In 1971 while working as the creative director at a London firm, he wrote the first Mr. Men book, Mr. Tickle. Initially he had difficulty finding a publisher, but once he did the books became an instant success, selling over one million copies within three years. In 1974 the books spawned a BBC animated television series, narrated by Arthur Lowe. A second series the following year saw newer titles transmitted in double bill format with those from the first series.

By 1976, Hargreaves had quit his day job. In 1981 the Little Miss series of books was launched, and in 1983 it also was made into a television series, narrated by Pauline Collins, and her husband John Alderton.
