Sarah Baxter creció en Norfolk (Inglaterra) y en la actualidad vive en Bath. Su pasión por los viajes y la naturaleza la ha llevado a viajar por Asia, Australia, Nueva Zelanda y Estados Unidos antes de dedicarse a la escritura. Durante más de 10 años fue editora asociada de la revista Wanderlust, la "biblia" de los viajeros independientes, y también ha escrito numerosos artículos de viajes para diversas publicaciones, como The Guardian, The Telegraph y The Independent. Sarah ha participado en más de una docena de guías Lonely Planet y es autora de A History of the World in 500 Walks y A History of the World in 500 Railway Journeys.
