Biografía del autor

Will Durant (1885-1981) fue un conocido historiador y ensayista estadounidense. Galardonado con el Premio Pulitzer de No Ficción (1968) y la Medalla Presidencial de la Libertad (1977), dedicó más de cincuenta años a escribir su aclamada serie de once volúmenes, Historia de la civilización (los últimos volúmenes escritos junto con su esposa, Ariel Durant). Defensor de los derechos humanos, como la fraternidad del hombre y la reforma social, mucho antes de que estos temas fueran populares, los escritos de Durant siguen educando y entreteniendo a lectores de todo el mundo. Historia de la Filosofía fue su primera obra y, tras su publicación en 1926, fue considerado como el libro de divulgación que popularizó la filosofía.
