This beautiful story tells the adventures of Ulysses, known as Odyssey in Greece, sailing the Mediterranean Sea. Huge storms lashing his boat because of the Sea Godâ s will, Poseidon. However, Ulysses is protected by Athena, the goddess of wisdom. In the meanwhile, in his homeland, Ithacaâ s Island, his wife Penelope and his son Telémaco are waiting for him until Telemaco will go in search of his fatherâ s news. But in Ithaca have been installed Penelopeâ s suitors , who want to convince her that her husband has died and who spend their days at Ulyssesâ palace eating and drinking ... Even if nothing is known with certainty, it seems that in the Eight Century b.C., a Greek minstrel called Homer, - blind according to the tradition- wrote this history, the Odyssey, that told the adventures lived by Ulysses from his departure form Troy until his arrive, twenty years later, at Ithaca. The Odyssey is a wonderful poem, written many, many years ago: nearly three thousand! The Odyssey is written in Greek, in 12,110 verses.
