Percival Everett es uno de los autores más prestigiosos de los Estados Unidos. Ha escrito unos treinta libros. Nació en 1956 en Georgia (EE.UU.) Estudió Filosofía y es profesor de universidad. La mezcla entre la profundidad de pensamiento y humor salvaje lo convierte en una voz única. El punto de vista de sus novelas descoloca al lector y le hace consciente de lo absurdo del racismo. Ha recibido el premio Hurston/Wright Legacy y el premio del Pen Club de Estados Unidos. Ha sido finalista del Booker Prize por "Los árboles" y finalista del premio Pulitzer en 2021.
