Nació en Dorsten (Alemania) en 1958. Pedagoga diplomada e ilustradora, ha escrito más de catorce libros para niños y jóvenes. Su último libro, El Señor de los Ladrones, se ha convertido en el gran libro revelación en Alemania y ha recibido cinco premios de Literatura Infantil y Juvenil.
