Biografía del autor

Maria Ressa es directora ejecutiva, cofundadora y presidenta de Rappler, la principal página informativa digital de Filipinas. Creció en Estados Unidos y estudió en la Universidad de Princeton antes de trabajar como periodista en Asia durante más de treinta y cinco años. Fue arrestada en múltiples ocasiones por el Gobierno de Duterte y cuenta su historia y su lucha en el documental Ausencia de verdad, seleccionado en el prestigioso Festival de Cine de Sundance. En 2021, recibió el World Press Freedom Prize de la UNESCO y el Premio Nobel de la Paz. En 2018, fue nombrada Persona del Año por la revista Time como una de las mujeres más inspiradoras e influyentes del siglo. También figuró en el Top 50 Thinkers de Prospect Magazine, de Bloomberg 50 y en el Top 100 Women de la BBC.
