Theirs is an unspeakable trade: elbowdeep in gore they have a firsthand view of the suffering caused by fleshrending monsters, arcane magical weaponry and embittered enemy soldiers. Entrusted for now with saving lives deemed otherwise unsaveable, the field hospital's crew face a precarious existence. Their work with unapproved magic, necromancy, demonology and Yasnic's thoroughly illicit Gods could lead to the unit being disbanded, arrested or worse. Beset by enemies within and without, the last thing anyone needs is a miracle.

Biografía del autor

Adrian Tchaikovsky nació en Woodhall Spa, Lincolnshire, antes de mudarse a Reading para estudiar psicología y zoología. Terminó Derecho y ha trabajado como ejecutivo jurídico tanto en Reading como Leeds, donde reside actualmente. Casado, es un gran aficionado a los juegos de rol en vivo y ha entrenado en lucha de exhibición y combate histórico. Mantiene un activo interés en la historia y en las ciencias biológicas, especialmente la entomología. Es autor de la aclamada decalogía Shadows of the Apt que inicia con Empires in Black and Gold. Algunas otras obras suyas son Guns of the Dawn, Herederos del tiempo y la nueva serie Echoes of the Fall entre otras. Ha sido galardonado con el British Fantasy Award y con el Arthur C. Clarke Award.
