Enter LAMPO: lovesick, jobless, in need of a distraction. Imprisoned in the quarries of Syracuse, thousands of defeated Athenians hang on by the thinnest of threads. They're fading in the baking heat, but not everything is lost: they can still recite lines from Greek tragedy when tempted by Lampo and Gelon with goatskins of wine and scraps of food.

And so an idea is born. Because, after all, you can hate the invaders but still love their poetry. It's audacious.

It might even be dangerous. But like all the best things in life love, friendship, art itself it will reveal the very worst, and the very best, of what humans are capable of. What could possibly go wrong?

Biografía del autor

Ferdia Lennon es un escritor dublinés de madre irlandesa y padre libio. Estudió Historia y Clásicas en UCD (University College Dublin) y en la universidad de Ámsterdam, e hizo un máster de Ficción en Prosa en la prestigiosa universidad de East Anglia. Ha publicado relatos en The Irish Times, Litro Magazine y The Stinging Fly, y ha sido nominado a premios de ficción breve como el Sean O' Faolain Short Story Prize y el Galley Beggar Short Story Prize. Su relato x{0026}lt;i A Man Came to My Doorx{0026}lt;/i ganó el Hennessy Literary Award en la categoría Emerging Fiction. Después de muchos años en París, donde ejercía como profesor en la UPEC, Ferdia Lennon vive en Norwich con su mujer y su hijo. x{0026}lt;i x{0026}lt;b Deus Exx{0026}lt;/b x{0026}lt;/i es su primera novela.
