But nothing can prepare Harriet for the craziness of Tokyo, her competitive model flatmates and her errant grandmother's 'chaperoning'.

Holly Smale, torpe, un poco geek y algo tímida, pasó gran parte de su adolescencia escondida en el baño del instituto. A los 15 años, por sorpresa, una agencia de top models de Londres la descubrió y pasó los siguientes dos años tropezándose en la pasarela, sonrojándose y rompiedo cosas que no podía pagar. Estudió Literatura Inglesa y dejó de ser modelo para iniciar un nuevo camino y llegar a ser escritora.
