x{0026}lt;P x{0026}lt;B Alice Walkerx{0026}lt;/B nació en Putnam County, Georgia, Estados Unidos, el 9 de febrero de 1944, siendo la pequeña de ocho hermanos en una humilde familia descendiente de esclavos y cherokees. Cuando tenía doce años perdió un ojo jugando a indios y cowboys con sus hermanos, uno de los cuales le disparó con una escopeta de perdigones.
