Die Zusammenarbeit zwischen Schiller und Goethe war intensiv, der Briefwechsel ausführlich. Die Lebendigkeit und angestrebte "Mannigfaltigkeit" dieser Beziehung spiegelt sich auch in der von Schiller herausgegebenen Ausgabe des "Musenalmanach für das Jahr 1798" wider, in dem eine größere Zahl von Balladen beider Dichter abgedruckt wurde, unter anderem Goethes "Zauberlehrling" und Schillers "Kraniche des Ibikus". In der vorliegenden Ausgabe wird der Gedanke dieses Musenalmanach aufgegriffen und fortgeführt. Sie enthält sämtliche Balladen von Goethe und Schiller in zeitlicher Folge.

Pero fue sin duda su primera obra, x{0026}lt;i Las penas del joven Wertherx{0026}lt;/i , aquella que causó mayor sensación en toda Europa y cuyo torrente expresivo sigue conmoviendo a cualquier lector.x{0026}lt;/p

Friedrich Schiller (1759- 1805) fue un poeta, dramaturgo, filósofo, historiador y editor alemán. Es considerado, junto a Goethe, el dramaturgo más importante de Alemania, así como una de las figuras centrales del romanticismo.
