Biografía del autor

Michael McEachern McDowell nació el 1 de Junio de 1950 en Alabama. Este escritor y guionista norteamericano, comenzó a escribir novelas de terror hacia finales de los setenta, siendo su obra más conocida la saga Blackwater. La saga de una rica familia sureña que contaba con amigos sobrenaturales. Durante su carrera literaria uso dos pseudonímos, Axel Young y Nathan Aldyne. En su trabajo como guionista destacan especialmente sus trabajos junto con un primerizo Tim Burton, en Beetlejuice o Pesadilla Antes de Navidad, también colaboró en Thinner, adaptación del relato de Stephen King. McDowell murió de sida en 1999, dejando inacabada Voces del Silencio, que completaría Tabitha King
