Nació en 1989 en Nueva Jersey. Debutó con i La desaparición /i (Sexto Piso, 2021), novela que resultó finalista, entre otros premios, del National Book Award y del National Book Critics Circle Award, además de ser escogida entre los diez mejores libros del año por i The New York Times. /i Ha recibido las prestigiosas becas Fulbright y Guggenheim y sus obras han sido traducidas a veintiséis lenguas. i Oso /i es su segunda novela.
