Biografía del autor

Alan Moore (Northampton, Reino Unido, 1953) nació en el seno de una familia obrera y desde joven fue un ávido lector gracias a las bibliotecas locales. Tras dejar los estudios y realizar trabajos muy variados, publicó obras como La balada de Halo Jones o V de Vendetta. Con La cosa del pantano empezó a publicar en DC, donde luego escribiría también cómics de sus principales personajes, como Superman o Batman. Fue también en DC donde publicó Watchmen, que resultó ganadora de premios como el Hugo, obtuvo una inmensa popularidad y fue elegida por la revista Time como una de las 100 mejores novelas del siglo XX. Después de publicar cómics como Un pequeño asesinato, From Hell, Promethea, La liga de los hombres extraordinarios, Top 10 o Providence, se embarcó en el género de la novela con La voz del fuego, El lagarto hipotético y Jerusalén, y con Iluminaciones (Nocturna, 2023) se adentró por primera vez en el género del relato. Ha retornado a la novela con su serie fantástica Londres eterno, compuesta por El gran cuando (Nocturna, 2025) y otros tomos de próxima publicación. Moore ha ganado todos los premios más importantes de la industria del cómic, como el Harvey, el Kirby y el Eisner, el gran premio del Festival Internacional del Cómic de Angulema, el World Fantasy Award, el Bram Stoker y el Max und Moritz en Alemania.
