Periodista franco-estadounidense que trabaja para The Wall Street Journal desde 1999 desde distintas ciudades como Bruselas, París y Nueva York. En 2008 fue nombrado jefe de la Oficina de Salud y Ciencia en Nueva York. Junto a un equipo del Journal, Carreyrou ganó el Pulitzer en 2003 por una serie de historias que expusieron varios escándalos corporativos en Estados Unidos y 2015, junto al Premio Gerald Loeb de Investigación, por Medicare Unmasked. También ha ganado los Premios Junior y Senior Peter R. Weitz del German Marshall Fund y el Premio George Polk, categoría Información Financiera.
