Lisa Kaltenegger es una astrofísica y astrobióloga galardonada.<br> Directora del Instituto Carl Sagan para la Búsqueda de Vida en el Cosmos y profesora adjunta de Astronomía en la Universidad de Cornell, Kaltenegger es una experta pionera en la simulación de potenciales mundos habitables y en la detección de sus espectrales rasgos distintivos. Forma parte del Comité Asesor de Astronomía y Astrofísica de la Fundación Nacional de Ciencias, así como del grupo de verificadores de misiones operativas de la NASA. Asimismo, es miembro del equipo científico de la misión TESS y ha participado en la construcción del espectrógrafo NIRISS, que viaja a bordo del telescopio espacial James Webb.<br> Kaltenegger fue considerada como una de las mejores investigadoras del año por las revistas Smithsonian y Time. Aparece en el documental The Search for Life in Space y es una asidua conferenciante que ha participado, por ejemplo, en el Aspen Ideas Festival, en TED Youth, en el World Science Festival y en planetario Adler de la Fundación Kavli, donde su intervención se retransmitió en directo a seis continentes.
