P B Arthur C. Clarke /B (1917-2008) fue un escritor, científico inglés y miembro de la Orden del Imperio Británico. Fue presidente de la Sociedad Interplanetaria Británica, miembro de la Academia Astronáutica, de la Real Sociedad Astronómica, entre otras organizaciones científicas.<br> P En su faceta de escritor, publicó un gran número de libros que han sido traducidos a más de treinta idiomas. En 1961 recibió el Premio Kalinga, otorgado por la Unesco, en reconocimiento a su labor como divulgador científico al gran público.
