Jon Savage
Jon Savage ha sido presentador de televisión, crítico musical, periodista y locutor, aunque su ambición siempre fue ser escritor. El estallido del punk en Inglaterra y la energía y creatividad que este desata le sirven como trampolín:en 1976 debutará con el fanzine London's Outrage, y en el icónico año de 1977 comenzó a escribir para Sounds, por entonces la revista musical británica más leída después del New Musical Express y Melody Maker. A partir de entonces colaborará regularmente en las mejores revistas musicales y de cultura popular de Inglaterra, trasladándose en 1979 a Melody Maker y un año después a la recién fundada The Face. El primer libro de Jon Savage, The Kinks: The oficial Biography, fue publicado en 1984, y a este le siguió su obra más conocida y galardonada, Englandx{0026} x02019;s Dreaming (1991), que narra la historia de los Sex Pistols y de la música punk-rock británica y que se ha convertido en la gran biblia del punk inglés.Los trabajos televisivos de Jon Savage incluyen el documental Arena (1975), premiado en los BAFTA, o Joy Division (2007) sobre la banda homónima. También ha lanzado varias recopilaciones de CDs basadas en sus listas de canciones, incluyendo Englandx{0026} x02019;s Dreaming (2004) y Meridian 1970 (2005).
