Edward Rice (Nueva York, 1918-2001), escritor, pintor, periodista y fotógrafo, viajó por Asia y África, trabajó para Naciones Unidas y fue autor de más de veinte libros, entre los que destacan: <em The Man in the Sycamore Tree: The Good Times and Hard Life of Thomas Merton</em ; <em Margaret Mead: A Portrait</em y <em John Frum He Come: A Polemical Work about a Black Tragedy</em . Fue fundador de la revista <em Jubilee</em en 1953.
