Antony Beevor
Antony Beevor, educado en Winchester y Sandhurst, fue oficial regular del ejército británico. Abandonó el ejército tras cinco años de servicio y se trasladó a París, donde escribió su primera novela. Sus ensayos, traducidos a más de treinta idiomas y publicados en castellano por Crítica, han sido galardonados con varios premios, especialmente Stalingrado (2000), merecedor del Samuel Johnson Prize, el Wolfson History Prize y el Hawthornden Prize, y Berlín. La caída, 1945 (2002), que han conocido una docena de ediciones en castellano. Otras obras del autor son La batalla de Creta (2002), ganadora del Runciman Prize, París después de la liberación (1944-1949) (2003), El misterio de Olga Chejova (2004), La guerra civil española (2005), Un escritor en guerra. Vassili Grossman en el ejército ruso, 1944-1945 (2006) y El Día D. La batalla de Normandía (2009).
