Roderick Beaton
p b Roderick Beaton /b es catedrático emérito Koraes de Historia, Lengua y Literatura Griega y Bizantina Moderna en el King's College de Londres. Ha ganado cuatro veces el Premio Runciman, que concede anualmente la Liga Anglo-Helénica al mejor libro de temática griega.
p Entre sus obras se cuentan i George Seferis: Waiting for the Angel: A Biography; Byron's War: Romantic Rebellion, Greek Revolution, /i por la que fue finalista del Premio Duff Cooper, y, más recientemente, i Grecia: Biografía de una nación moderna, /i también finalista del prestigioso Premio Cundill de Historia (y de próxima publicación en Ático de los Libros). Es miembro de la Academia Británica y comendador de la Orden de Honor de la República Helénica. En 2023 adquirió la ciudadanía griega y en 2024 fue nombrado caballero británico por sus contribuciones al acercamiento entre las culturas helena e inglesa.
