Adam Alter es profesor adjunto de Marketing y Psicología en la Stern School of Business de la Universidad de Nueva York. Se licenció en Psicología con matrícula de honor y recibió una Medalla al Mérito Universitario de la Universidad de Nueva Gales del Sur. Ha escrito artículos para publicaciones como New York Times, New Yorker, Wired, Washington Post y The Atlantic, entre otras. Sus últimas investigaciones se han centrado en las adicciones del comportamiento, un nuevo concepto que equipara las adicciones al móvil, televisión, videojuegos, etc. -y sus consecuencias, incluso el síndrome de abstinencia- a las adicciones a las drogas o el alcohol.
